Furniture Outlet changes its name to Furniture Plus! New national brand created for the Bahamas. Freeport, Grand Bahama - November 3, 2007. Today marks a special day for the Ferguson and d'Arville families as their two companies come together to create a national brand for the Bahamas by re-branding the Furniture Outlet in Grand Bahama to a Furniture Plus store. The Furniture Outlet and Furniture Plus became partners in late 2004, and this uniting under the Furniture Plus national brand name is just another commitment to their partnership.  Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Troy d'Arville opened Furniture Plus in 1988 with his father, and now he and his wife, Krystynia Lee d'Arville, run and operate one of the leading furniture, appliance and electronics stores in Nassau, located in the Town Centre Mall. Scott and Victoria Ferguson began their own furniture careers in Grand Bahama in 1995 when they purchased Value Line which eventually moved into the Shamrock building in October 1997 and opened as the Furniture Outlet. Together this Management Team has over 50 years experience in the furniture industry. Now, some 10 years later The Furniture Outlet will celebrate its anniversary by changing its name to Furniture Plus! "There has been a lot of work to get to this day," said Scott Ferguson, General Manager of Furniture Plus Grand Bahama, "Our store has been repainted, all of our signs have been changed and we've decorated for the holidays. Our staff has been fantastic in helping us get to this point." This is all clearly visible when one turns onto Madeira Croft and the once yellow building is now a bright red with a huge Furniture Plus sign on the roof. "Our executive staff have flown over for this landmark occasion," said Krystynia Lee d'Arville, co-owner and Sales & Marketing Director for the company. "It's been so busy we've hardly had time to talk as we are dealing with so many customers." She went on to add, "Troy and I are thrilled to be branding a sister store here in Grand Bahama. Like the Fergusons, we are seeing the growth on this island and only expect it to increase."  The Grand Bahama store all dressed up for Christmas! The re-branding of the store means that Grand Bahamians will now have more access to additional furniture lines, appliances and even electronics. Furniture Plus also launched its interactive website (www.furnitureplus.com) in 2006 where customers can apply online for credit, view product, ask questions, plus receive email notifications about sales events and even apply online for career opportunities. The coming together of such well-known leaders in the furniture business can only mean great things for all Bahamians as more buying power means a better bottom line for consumers. In celebration of this union the Grand Bahama Furniture Plus store will officially be re-branded and, in conjunction with its Nassau store, will give away over $50,000 in gifts and prizes, including over $10,000 in gift certificates! The owners also plan to launch their Christmas Campaign and at the same time give back to the community by treating all the children from the Grand Bahama Children's Home to photos with Mr. & Mrs. Claus. Each child will receive a treat bag, too. It's the Furniture Plus Sweet, Suite Christmas extravaganza and the owners invite everyone to come and visit! Furniture Plus was founded in December 1988 by the late Paul Patrick Tyrone d'Arville and his son, Troy T. d'Arville.
