Furniture Plus Sponsors Ardastra Gardens Petting Zoo and Invites Public to Experience Petting Zoo in their Nassau Store, Saturdays in July

Nassau, Bahamas - July 2, 2007. Everyone knows it's a zoo out there. However, Furniture Plus and the Plus Group of Companies have discovered a zoo of a much more peaceful kind at Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Center. They believe every Bahamian child should know the thrill and wonder of touching a bunny, petting a pig, feeling (or even holding) a Bahamian boa constrictor, and interacting with raptors, parrots and other animals. So Furniture Plus and The Plus Group of Companies have sponsored the petting zoo at Ardastra Gardens.

"My three-year-old son Maverick and I really enjoy Ardastra Gardens," said Troy d'Arville, President and CEO of Furniture Plus. "So we sponsored the petting zoo in his name. Our hope is that by supporting this wholesome, educational and kid-friendly place, we can do our part to encourage parents to bring their children and enjoy an amazing bonding experience."

As part of this effort, Furniture Plus is hosting events in their Nassau store featuring the Ardastra Gardens petting zoo staff and a bevy of delightful tame and exotic animals including rabbits, cockatoos and even a boa constrictor. Every Saturday during the month of July from noon until 2:00 p.m., customers and the general public are invited to bring their children so they can touch and interact with the animals. They'll also sway to the music of a Bahamian Steel Brass Band and enjoy Bahamian delights of conch salad, coconut tarts, and other tasty foods served by Furniture Plus Guest Ambassadors.

But one look at the animals and their eyes light up like sparklers.
