Furniture Plus promotes Island Hoppin' ![]() Tru-Tru Bahamian FUN! Celebrating Independence all month long, Furniture Plus stores and MORE FM have teamed up to present the "Tru-Tru Bahamian Trivia Contest." Weekdays listeners can enter to win a weekly prize in Nassau and Grand Bahama by correctly answering Tru Bahamian questions. Listeners can also learn about Furniture Plus' big Independence Island Hopping Campaign. Pictured at last Friday's drawing are Furniture Plus representative Yolanda Pawar of Ad Impact and More 94 FM's Morning Show Deejay, "Big L." Nassau and Grand Bahama - Sunday, 13 July 2008. Furniture Plus is well known for its innovative promotions that give their customers chances to win furniture, phones, cash, electronics, plus so much more. This year the Furniture Plus creative team decided to take a spin off the Ministry of Tourism's Island hoppin' adventure and send four lucky locals on their very own Out Island Adventure. Island Hoppin' is one of the Ministry of Tourisms' clever advertising promotions which encourages tourists to visit more than one island on their vacations in order to take in the full beauty and charm of our archipelago. For the most part, this promotes the out islands, and serves to build their local economies and provide much needed work for the local vendors and merchants. "For us it all started with our sister store in Grand Bahama. They had an idea for a sizzling Valentine's Day promotion. We teamed up with Pelican Bay Resort, Sabor restaurant and Western Air to give our Nassau and Grand Bahama shoppers a chance to experience a luxurious Grand Bahama tourist experience," said Krystynia Lee d'Arville, Director of Sales & Marketing for Furniture Plus. "It went over very well with our customers and our sales team too, so we decided to try it again for Independence with Eleuthera." ![]() Furniture Plus celebrates Independence all month long. Customers shopping at Furniture Plus stores in Nassau or Grand Bahama are getting a chance to win a dream Island Hoppin' trip to Eleuthera, with winners from both islands winning a two-day stay at Valentines Resort in Harbour Island, BoHengy ferry transportation and flights for the GB winners from Sky and Regional Air. Pictured are some of the Tru-Tru Bahamian Trivia Winners receiving their complimentary Furniture Plus Gift Packs from the month-long trivia game that Furniture Plus is also doing with MORE FM. Pictured (left to right) at Furniture Plus in Nassau are winners: Dillete Walkes, Shazell Rolle, Patrick Johnson and Wildera ("Dera"), a Furniture Plus Associate. This move led to Furniture Plus teaming up with Valentines Resort in Harbour Island, the BoHengy Ferry, who kindly provided round-trip tickets to Harbour Island from Nassau, and Regional Air and Sky Bahamas, the airline carrier that will transport the Grand Bahama winners to the capital, the starting point of their island adventure. "Independence is crazy here, and we go all out!" exclaimed d'Arville. "This is one of my favourite celebrations. We decorate the store, we decorate our staff, we have Saturday in-store events from 2-4PM with a steel band and Ardastra Gardens, and now we're offering a chance to visit one of our most beautiful islands." Furniture Plus's sister store will also be "living it up" in Grand Bahama with live remotes and free Bahamian tasty treats for all visitors on Saturdays. "This will be our first big promotion for Independence and we are very excited to celebrate all month long and to promote our fellow islands," said Scott Ferguson, General Manager, Furniture Plus Grand Bahama. "Supporting each other during this economic time can only be helpful and remind us about the bigger family we have in our 700 islands." ![]() Bahamian Music every Saturday. Each Saturday the Furniture Plus stores are filled with great Bahamian music. In Nassau the Revolution Members jam at Furniture Plus. Pictured are Anku Eneas and Michael Hoight, two of the three-man ensemble that delight the customers with the titillating sounds of the steel pan and drums. Customers can become eligible to win the Eleuthera Island Hoppin' trip by making a purchase at Furniture Plus during the month of July. In addition, Furniture Plus will also host a daily call-in radio trivia on MORE FM, promoting all things Bahamian and giving away fantastic weekly prizes, including round-trip flights to Nassau on Regional Air and Sky Bahamas for Grand Bahama callers and BoHengy Ferry tickets to Eleuthera for Nassuvians. "Our business survives on locals who shop at home, so we felt that by supporting our fellow islands we can encourage others to spend their hard-earned dollars at home too," said Mrs. d'Arville. "We also plan to continue this theme into next year but I don't want to give it all away to you now." ![]() More Winners! Left: Ms. Lenetria Munroe. Right: Grand Prize Winner Ms. Ashanta Ramsey.
