Furniture Plus announces first 18 winners in the "My Favourite Things" Christmas promotion

The Bahamas, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 -- Furniture Plus stores in Nassau, Grand Bahama and Abaco hold the keys to a brighter Christmas for 30 lucky winners this year. Customers making a minimum purchase receive a key that they can use to try and unlock a treasure chest in-store. If their key fits, the chest will open to reveal one of 30 prizes including furniture, appliances and accessories totaling $50,000. To date a total of 18 winners have been announced.Winners thus far in Abaco:  Anthony Russell, Eve Williams, Anthony Edgecomb, Julie Smith Shonie Strachan, and Sophie Russell.

Winners thus far in Grand Bahama: Nicole Pinder, Barbara Hepburn, Dania Dean, McKell Rolle, George Rolle, and Venese Bain.

Winners thus far in Nassau: Lendire Rolle, Cicely Armbrister, Janice Bullard, Genevieve Strachan Melande Dashommes and Karen Thurston.

Grand Bahama winner Nicole Pinder said, "Well it was very exciting to win, I told my salesperson I could not recall ever winning anything before.  To be honest after spending a big sum of money it was a nice feeling to get a gift back!  I've really grown to enjoy my prizes and they are in my house, proudly on display."

Concurrent with the promotion, Furniture Plus continues to give back to the community through sales of Candles of Hope and Angels of Hope Christmas tree tags to benefit children’s charities within each island community. The company matches proceeds to encourage community involvement and achieve maximum impact. The three charities include: Hands for Hunger in Nassau, Grand Bahama Children’s Home in Grand Bahama, and Every Child Counts School in Abaco.
