Furniture Plus announces March winners in its "BELIEVE" campaign
Donations to charity accompany the prizes awarded

Look what we won!
Look what we won! Mrs. Norma Swain of Grand Bahama (third from left) was "overjoyed" to learn she had won in last month's Believe campaign. She and her husband John (pictured far left) are seen receiving their new 26-inch LCD TV from Mr. Scott Ferguson, General Manager of the Grand Bahama store (far right) on the same day that the store in Grand Bahama was doing a live remote with radio personality Candy from COOL 96 (second from left). Mr. and Mrs. Swain chose The Bahamas Heart Association as their designated charity. "I know a few people whose children have had problems and the Heart Association was there for them," said Mrs. Swain.

The Bahamas, Tuesday, April 14, 2010 . Furniture Plus stores in Nassau and Grand Bahama are giving away over $40,000 in prizes while donating to charities selected by winning customers. It's all through a promotion entitled "BELIEVE" that began last month. The first leg of the campaign runs through September 30th and is built around the concept that people and the community matter and that we can believe in ourselves and each other. While last year Furniture Plus helped promote domestic tourism through its successful Shop 2 Hop Campaign, this year they want Bahamians to look at helping each other by giving back and believing in their community. This includes of course the many products and financial services promoted by Furniture Plus as well as the ten main charities they support.

Last month, Grand Bahama resident Mrs. Norma Swain stepped into the Grand Bahama Furniture Plus store to shop for a recliner and accessories with no idea of some additional surprises that would soon come her way. After all, when you're nearly seven months pregnant there is a lot of planning to do and showers to attend and a nursery to fill with your loving touches. Her purchase exceeded the minimum requirement to enter the "BELIEVE" giveaways, and this expectant young woman soon received a most un-expected phone call. She had won a beautiful 26-inch LCD television plus the privilege of having funds designated to the charity of her choice.

"I came into Furniture Plus and your sales girls were so beautiful and helpful, I couldn't help but buy!" said Mrs. Swain to General Manager Scott Ferguson. She and her husband chose The Bahamas Heart Association as their designated charity. "I know a few people whose children have had problems and the Heart Association was there for them," said Mrs. Swain. "I felt it would be very meaningful to help them."

The BELIEVE promotion was the inspiration of Mrs. Krystynia Lee d'Arville, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Furniture Plus. "Our company has always celebrated people, whether collectively or individually, and we love encouraging them to shine," she said. "We also care deeply about our community and believe in helping worthy causes. The BELIEVE campaign attempts to capture this culture and philosophy by reminding people to believe they can achieve their hopes and dreams, help others along the way, and of course show how they can believe in Furniture Plus to help them 'create the beautiful homes they desire.'" Prizes each month may include items such as bedroom, dining room, or living room suites plus appliances, electronics or accent collections and more. Customers making a minimum purchase in a given month are eligible to win in subsequent drawings since entries roll over from month to month.

Charities win, too!
Charities win, too! Dawn Forbes, Executive Assistant to Sales and Marketing, presents a donation to The Children's Emergency Hostel, the selected charity of March "BELIEVE" winner Ms. Audrey North (right). "The Hostel is located close to my home," explained Ms. North of Nassau. "Also my cousin adopted two wonderful children from them at ages 4 and 5; now they are all grown. So I have a close connection to this charity." Ms. North also took home a 26-inch LCD TV as her prize.

Meanwhile in Nassau, Ms. Audrey North stopped by the Town Centre Mall location last month and purchased three bedroom suites, a refrigerator and a table. Then in early April she received the wonderful news that she could come in and claim her prize as the Nassau winner. Ms. North accepted her new 26-inch LCD television from Mrs. Dawn Forbes, Executive Assistant to Sales and Marketing . "I am so excited and happy to have won. I am a long-time customer and over the years I continue to purchase from Furniture Plus because of the quality and durability of their products," explained Ms. North. She then graciously thanked the company for making a donation to her chosen charity, the Children’s Emergency Hostel . "The Hostel is located close to my home. Also my cousin adopted two wonderful children from them at ages 4 and 5; now they are all grown. So I have a close connection to this charity."

Mrs. Lee d'Arville is pleased with the community spirit combined with opportunities to both give and receive. "We are happy when people can afford beautiful homes by taking advantage of our in-house financing," said Mrs. Lee d'Arville. "Now when they shop with us they can also win prizes and honor charities that are close to their hearts. Furniture Plus believes in our community and our customers. We want to make believers out of them, too."
