As Sales & Operations Manager at Furniture Plus, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our retail stores. Your primary responsibility will include leading a cohesive team, with a focus on supporting both sales efforts and store operations, and co-leading with the Sales and Merchandising Manager to optimize merchandising for an attractive shopping environment. We are looking for an inspiring leader with proven retail sales experience, someone who is hungry for continuous learning and thrives on training and working with the sales team to elevate their performance. You will be a key player in driving sales and strategic merchandising efforts, working closely with company management to uphold store excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a customer-centric environment while achieving operational, sales, and merchandising targets.

This role requires a blend of sales acumen and operational expertise to lead our team to success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage and train new and existing sales associates in selling skills, product knowledge, systems, and procedures to achieve operational, sales, and merchandising goals. 
  • Inspire and foster a culture of growth and development. Maintaining a visible presence on the sales floor to drive productivity, customer engagement, and sales performance. 
  • Oversee the daily operations of the retail stores. Ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Developing and implementing strategies and maximizing efficiency and productivity. 
  • Enhancing the presentation of merchandise throughout the store to ensure optimal performance across all product categories. This involves meticulous analysis of outcomes, pinpointing areas that require improvement, and prompt execution of solutions that drive superior sales results. 
  • Analyze reports and extract insights, identifying opportunities for operational improvements, and enhanced sales efficiency. 
  • Conduct department meetings to communicate progress, align with company initiatives and guide the sales team. 
  • Drive a culture of sales excellence and exceptional customer experiences in alignment with Furniture Plus’s culture. Ensuring that expectations are set properly, and customers are 100% satisfied with the sales, delivery, and overall experience with our brand. 

Requirements:

  • Proficient in process management and process improvement. With a keen ability to analyze complex challenges, identify root causes, and implement solutions. 
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to exceeding customer satisfaction. 
  • Effective talent management skills, including team development and motivation. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
  • Proficiency in critical thinking and problem-solving. High attention to detail. 
  • Previous experience in retail sales, operations management, and merchandising is preferred. 

Education & Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field (preferred but not required). 
  • Proven experience in retail sales, operations management, and merchandising. 
  • Familiarity with furniture retail industry trends is a plus.
